I am a brand ambassador for Central Arkansas McDonalds. While I am being compensated for this post all thoughts and opinions are my own.
July is National Ice Cream Month and is also one of the hottest months of the year. Coincidence? I think not! I don’t know about you, but I plan on celebrating ice cream a lot this month…HA!
Luckily for me (and you!) McDonald’s has a lot of different ice cream options for you to try and I can honestly say that I have tried them all and they are all equally amazing!! So whether you like your ice cream in a cone or in a cup or eaten with a spoon or straw, McDonald’s has you covered!
McDonald’s has four basic ice cream options to choose from and then several flavors for each. That’s a lot of ice cream to cover so let’s get to it!
Vanilla Cone. This is just your basic vanilla soft serve ice cream swirled up in a crispy cone. You can’t go wrong with this classic, however I find it a bit messy so plan accordingly. I always ask for extra napkins with my cone because I am a grade A klutz! HA!
Sundaes. Oh my word, I love a good sundae on a hot summer day!! McDonald’s sundaes come in three yummy flavors….Hot Fudge, Caramel and Strawberry. If you know me, and I think most of you do at this point, then you know Caramel is my JAM. But I have to say that Hot Fudge is a close second. Don’t forget to ask for nuts!!
McFlurries. Hello my favorite ice cream treat of 2016! I don’t know what it is about a McFlurry that makes me drool but I love these things! Right now McFlurries are available in two flavors, M&M and Oreo, but be on the lookout because McDonald’s likes to sneak a surprise flavor in every once in awhile…miss you Reese’s McFlurry of Summer 2015!!! And other areas of the country got Kit Kat McFlurries and over in Australia they got a Cadbury Egg McFlurry!! I would be so broke if Arkansas ever got a Cadbury Egg McFlurry. Just sayin’…
Shakes. Some days require you to be a little more hands free and this is where the ever so delicious McDonald’s shake comes in! There three shake flavors always on hand…vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, and one seasonal, shamrock. I don’t think we have gotten the Shamrock Shake in central Arkansas (which is a crying shame because those bad boys are delicious) but my fingers are always crossed for next year!!
So now that we have covered all of this sweet, cold, deliciousness I am ready for an M&M McFlurry ASAP…and what better place to get a sweet treat on this hot summer day than the completely remodeled McDonald’s in North Little Rock on McCain?? Today is the GRAND OPENING and yesterday I got to go to a preview party!
I got to go “behind the scenes” and tour the back area and I even got to make my very own Carmel Frappe and see the McFlurry station!! Y’all know I was in heaven, right? HAHAHA!!
What is your favorite ice cream treat from McDonald’s??
